Dehydrated Duck Feet
As duck feet is comprised mostly of cartilage, skin, and bone, they have a high concentration of glucosamine, and chondroitin, which are commonly found in joint supplements. It is also a low calorie treat with each foot averaging approximately 75 calories, so they are an option if your pet is on a diet. Also, It is estimated that one foot contains approximately 450mg of glucosamine, which is the daily dosage for a medium sized dog!
Furthermore, duck feet helps with dental health, as the crunching action of the feet works as a mild abrasive to scrape away leftover food, or plaque on the surface enamel. They essentially act as an edible, fully digestible toothbrush.
*Our duck feet are dehydrated raw, and not cooked in any form. Therefore, our chicken feet will not splinter which creates sharp, glass like bones that could potentially harm your pet. Instead, the dehydrating process softens the bones, so they will crush, and crumble.
The Nitty Gritty:
Glucosamine: A natural compound comprised of glucose (sugar), and glutamine (an amino acid). It is the key to healthy bones, and joints. Glucosamine helps lubricate your pet’s joints by stimulating cartilage growth, and thickening synovial fluid, as well as reducing inflammation. It also improves overall joint health by improving mechanical joint mobility while slowing down arthritis-meaning less discomfort, and stiffness on the joints!
Chondroitin: It works with Glucosamine to help provide more mobility, and flexibility. It is a cartilage component that encourages water retention, and elasticity in joints. Chondroitin also hinders cartilage destroying enzymes that breaks down cartilage, and joint fluids.
