It is also crucial for proper digestion as it aids in the breakdown of protein to amino acids. A vitamin B12 deficiency could result in diarrhea. 

Vitamin C: Essential for maintaining, and supplying oxygen in the circulatory system. Primary roles are oxygen transport around the body, oxygen storage as hemoglobin; but it is also necessary for energy production, and is a cofactor for multiple enzymes in the body.

Manganese: A trace mineral that is only needed in small quantities, but helps to stimulate a multitude of enzymatic functions, from the digestion of carbohydrates, and protein, to proper bone, collagen, and cartilage formation. It is also important to formulate antioxidant enzymes that protect against free radicals.

Magnesium: Classified as an essential macronutrient, meaning the body cannot manufacture it. It is required for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Aids in the regulation of blood glucose levels, as well as the production of energy, and protein. It is also vital for normal muscle and nerve function, keeping a steady heart beat, helping bones stay strong, and supporting the immune system.
